Neek Talk Interview: Sterling Pratz

The Autonet Mobile website asks, What happens when a Pro Race Car Driver meets a Sr. Executive from Nortel’s Innovations Lab?

Easy! The first Always-On Broadband Internet service for cars. Sterling Pratz, a former race car driver, and Doug Moeller teamed up to form Autonet Mobile.

We met up with Sterling Pratz during the CES 2007 show. Sterling approached us and asked us what we thought about Internet in the car. Sarah responded she already uses EV-DO, but he immediately rejected that idea. What if everyone in the car could use the Internet, rather than just one computer? What if the car was a Wi-Fi Hotspot? This made us very interested.

During the interview, he tells us about how he and his partner thought of the idea. He also gives us details on the product, even the basic things such as "How does it work?"and "Is it safe?" The key behind Autonet Mobile Service is the TRU Technology, building a wireless hotspot for the car.
