CES 2007 - Day 3
We attended the Tablet PC and UMPC Community Gathering. The gathering began at 3:30 and somewhere around 100 people came. Sarah, Kim and I were able to talk to a ton of people including: Trevor Claiborne from Student Tablet PC, Fritz Switzer from abletfactory.com, Oscar Koenders from Microsoft, Evan Feldman from AOL, Scott Eckert from Motion Computing, Ken Collura from Bishop Hartley, Donald Spencer from Intelligent Technologies Inc., Gail B. Levy from TabletKiosk, and Martin Smekal who is president of TabletKiosk. Everyone who came was very kind, and extremely interested in what we thought about their products.
There was even a drawing, in which Motion gave away a Tablet PC! Everyone who came to the event, except for people associated with Motion or Microsoft, were able to enter. But, that wasn’t the only thing given away. A carrying case from Otter Box, and a carrying case from IT we also given away, along with some T-shirts from TabletKiosk.
However, probably my favorite part of the whole night was when we sat down with Martin Smekal from TabletKiosk and were able to tell him our thoughts on their Tablet PC’s. Rob from GottaBeMobile captured this photo of us talking to Mr. Smekal.
It was so exciting because he actually wanted to know what we thought about their products. He asked us about different colors, different designs, what should be added and taken away, what we thought about the carrying case. And he actually listened. He and the rest of the TabletKiosk team had a ton of great ideas about where they should go next, and we were able to give our opinions on these ideas. Hopefully TabletKiosk will take some of our ideas into consideration when they design their next Tablet PC.
